According to agents in HomeLight’s quarter four survey, sentiment is somewhat split on an upcoming recession—something that would absolutely affect home sales. About 36 percent of agents surveyed expect we will see the economy drop by the end of 2021, but 12 percent think that it’s going to hit by the end of 2020.
Sellers aren’t super concerned though; agents note that about 70 percent of them never even bring up the idea of a recession. But regardless of an incoming recession or not, selling your home will pose some unique issues in the next year. Here’s what to expect as the most difficult hurdles you’ll need to overcome.

Accessories are important to a room and houseplants are considered one of them. Have you noticed lately how popular having plants has become? Almost every decor magazine and Instagram photo has a plant. I love how a plant just makes the space feel more like home and adds such a nice pop of green. Below are some tips on bringing plants and or green into the home.
Is it okay to mix fresh and faux houseplants?
YES! Don’t feel intimidated if you don’t have a green thumb and every plant you have ever had dies, there are many ways to add fresh plants without having to go take a horticulture class. Keep reading for more ideas on becoming a green thumb.
Long-lasting and Hard-to-Kill Plants
Here are some ideas for long lasting/hardy house plants; succulents, orchids, ferns, philodendron, orchids and air plants. Check with your local florist or plant store and they can guide you to what will work for you. Start with just a couple and as you ease yourself into plant ownership and care you can add more.

When my husband was killed in an accident I wasn’t prepared, and it made an impossible time even harder.
Hoping for the best is not a plan – so let’s make one!

Marianna Ristorante is a hidden gem in downtown Renton. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with the stucco walls, terra cotta floors, white tablecloths, and low lighting. It’s a great place for a dinner for two, or a large party. Even when they are packed, it is not too loud to talk.
Marianna Ristorante is open for lunch and dinner. They have a large selection of wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages, and the menu includes many Italian favorites, such as Lasagna, Spaghetti Bolognese, Penne Vodka, Pizza, Spaghetti Carbonara, Cesar salad, Pear and Gorgonzola salad, several soups, and desserts.
My favorite dish is Rigatoni con Salciccia which contains Rigatoni, Italian Sausage, Caramelized Red Onions, and Sweet Pea. They have some vegetarian options as well.
If you also want to be entertained, I recommend asking to sit in Christian’s section. He is a really exuberant guy, who obviously enjoys his job and likes to have fun with his customers. He just makes the experience so much fun!

Dear Don:
How much money do I need to buy a home?
Inquiring Eileen
As we head into a new decade, the Windermere Foundation reached a milestone in 2019 by raising nearly $3 million, bringing the grand total to over $40 million in donations raised since 1989.
Twenty-five percent of the funds raised in 2019 were donated by agents from their commissions. The rest was raised through office fundraisers, additional giving by owners, agents, and staff, and public donations. These dollars stay local, as each Windermere Real Estate office has their own Foundation funds, supporting low-income and homeless families in the communities where offices do business.

Ask a homeowner which room they would most like to improve, and most will point to the kitchen – the starting point for every meal and the heart of the home.
Ask those same people why they don’t move forward with a kitchen remodel, and many will say the project seems so overwhelming they don’t know where to start. If your kitchen needs an upgrade, here are some step-by-step suggestions to get you started.
Gather your thoughts
The steps that follow will all progress much easier if you take time beforehand to form a strong opinion about the desired look and layout of your new kitchen.

ECONOMIC OVERVIEW
Employment in Washington State continues to soften; it is currently at an annual growth rate of 1.7%. I believe that is a temporary slowdown and we will see the pace of employment growth improve as we move further into the new year. It’s clear that businesses are continuing to feel the effects of the trade war with China and this is impacting hiring practices. This is, of course, in addition to the issues that Boeing currently faces regarding the 737 MAX.
In the fourth quarter of 2019 the state unemployment rate was 4.4%, marginally lower than the 4.5% level of a year ago. My most recent economic forecast suggests that statewide job growth in 2020 will rise 2.2%, with a total of 76,300 new jobs created.
