If you’re game to try something different and very appetizing, I recommend checking out Stellar Pizza in Georgetown. They are currently doing take out and delivery.
Stellar Pizza, Ale, & Cocktails was established in 2001 when Stella Steadmon set out to create the kind of place she wanted to frequent in her beloved Georgetown neighborhood. After searching three-plus years for the perfect location, she discovered the Bertoldi building, which once housed Beannie’s Tavern and the original Georgetown Liquor. Today, it is still owned by the Bertoldi Family.
We’ve been going to Stellar Pizza for many years. It’s our favorite standard pizza (not thin crust, or Chicago style), and now that we can only do takeout or delivery I really miss the funky, divey, grungy, old school Seattle atmosphere.
Being the creatures of habit that we are, we normally get a half Georgetowner pizza with a house salad and Stellar margarita.
I am somewhat of a margarita snob, since my brother taught me how to make what I consider the best margaritas, and I can assure you that Stellar’s are delicious and very boozy.
I also love their pizza, with its perfect crust. They also serve sandwiches, calzones, hot wings, hummus plate, artichoke dip, various salads, lasagna, mac and cheese, spaghetti and desserts, as well as vegetarian options.
When the dining room is open, you can hear almost any type of music from opera to Metallica. The servers and patrons usually have lots of tattoos and piercings, and it’s just a fun place to go. The bar is lively and entertaining, and there’s a separate dining area where kids are allowed.
Stellar Pizza uses as many quality local ingredients and family-owned craft brews as possible. They source their sausage from the Cascioppo family in Ballard and their bread from La Panzanella. They make their own dough and pizza sauce daily. All the food is made to order, and well worth the wait. I highly recommend!
