Spring is coming.

Working with friends & neighbors on a landscaping project at Rainier Beach Community Center

Hang in there, friends! It won’t be long before this bitter cold is a distant memory, and—if you’re lucky—you’ll be spending way too much time in the garden. This month, I’m pulling winter weeds to prevent them from seeding. It helps to keep spring and summer weeding at a minimum.

Neighborhood Spotlight: Skyway Library

In other news, have you seen the extensive list of upcoming events at Skyway Library? I was thrilled to discover everything from Slanted Eyes: The Asian American Experience to Lego Brick Builders and everything in between, and am really looking forward to the Indoor Cinema showing of Loving—the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, a couple whose arrest for interracial marriage in 1960s Virginia began a legal battle that ended with the Supreme Court’s historic 1967 decision. Find more details here.

Winter Food Drive

My office, Windermere Mount Baker Real Estate is currently hosting its annual Winter Food Drive on behalf of Rainier Valley Food Bank—a tiny organization serving more than 20,000 hungry neighbors each month. Anything helps. You can drop donations at the office through this Wednesday, February 28, at 5 pm, or give me a call and I’ll swing by and pick up.

Seeking Your Feedback

Finally, thanks so much for reading and please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know of any information you’d like to see here that will help you engage with your community and/or learn more about local real estate.

Best,
Don
