WOW! I recently took some time off for the first time all year so Alan and I could cross a 10-day whirlwind cruise through Europe off our bucket list. We traveled the open ocean with several old friends and explored some of the world’s most beautiful ports, including London, France, Spain, and Portugal. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we had a blast.
First, it was great to just completely unplug for two full weeks, which I could only do because I knew my clients were in good hands with my good friend and colleague Dorothy Driver (Thanks, Dorothy!).
The trip started with a couple of days in Amsterdam, and the first stop of the cruise was the white cliffs of Dover. We were able to tour Buckingham Palace since the queen was on holiday, and the ship sailed at night, so each day we woke up in a new port, except for an overnight in Bordeaux, which was one of my favorite stops, as it was like a mini Paris. Super nice people, great food, and cool architecture, and a nice vibe to the city.
We also enjoyed a private tour with a Basque guide in the Basque region of France and Spain. He took us on a wine tasting, and toured San Sebastián and Bilbao, and from there we were off to Portugal to Porto and the final stop in Lisbon. It was a great trip!
