SAVE THE DATE: Windermere Mount Baker’s Spring Art Show
Dear friends,
This month, my office, Windermere Mount Baker Real Estate will host our Spring Art Show reception with a wonderful visual interpretation of what “Home” means to 12 different artists, at a time when the importance of home is more significant than ever.
Local artists include Amy Hyden, Gabriella Duncan, Heidi Devereux, Isobel Davis, Larissa Anderson, Mita Reitchardt, Sally Drew, Sarah King, Susan Cole, and Tara McDermott.
The event is scheduled for Friday, April 2o, from 5:30-8 pm. Refreshments will be served, and a portion of proceeds will benefit Youth In Focus, a non-profit empowering urban youth through photography.

SAVE THE DATE: Free Recycling & Paper Shredding Event
Hi friends,
Are you wondering what do with all the stuff you’ve piled up while spring cleaning? Not to worry, we can help!
Next month, my office, Windermere Mount Baker Real Estate will host our annual 7th annual Free Recycling & Paper Shredding Event at Rainier Community Center (4600 38th Ave. S.).
Bring your old laptops, BBQs, phones, cameras, and TVs. Empty out your old paper files and bring them to our big shredding truck for immediate destruction.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, from 10 am to 2 pm.

My office, Windermere Mount Baker Real Estate is hosting an evening of Earthquake Preparedness next week at Mount Baker Community Club (2811 Mount Rainier Dr S.). The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 15, from 6:30 to 8 pm.

Disaster Preparedness Consultant JoAnn Jordan presents the information in a fun and relaxed way. You will learn the best ways to be safe in an earthquake and how to share the information with those you love. You will also learn ways to get ready for the consequences of a disaster that are simple, quick and affordable.

SAVE THE DATE: Free Women’s Self Defense Workshop
Dear friends,
This Saturday, March 10, from 4 to 6 pm, my office, Windermere Mount Baker Real Estate (4919 S. Genesee St, 98118) will host a FREE women’s self-defense class presented by south Seattle-based Macabee Martial Arts.
Intro to Self Defense for teens and adult women who want to take charge of defending themselves. Develop the attitude and learn techniques to prevent and fend off attack. All levels of ability and fitness are welcome.

Spring is coming.
Working with friends & neighbors on a landscaping project at Rainier Beach Community Center
Hang in there, friends! It won’t be long before this bitter cold is a distant memory, and—if you’re lucky—you’ll be spending way too much time in the garden. This month, I’m pulling winter weeds to prevent them from seeding. It helps to keep spring and summer weeding at a minimum.
Neighborhood Spotlight: Skyway Library
In other news, have you seen the extensive list of upcoming events at Skyway Library? I was thrilled to discover everything from Slanted Eyes: The Asian American Experience to Lego Brick Builders and everything in between, and am really looking forward to the Indoor Cinema showing of Loving—the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, a couple whose arrest for interracial marriage in 1960s Virginia began a legal battle that ended with the Supreme Court’s historic 1967 decision.
