Windermere Teams Up with the Seahawks to #TackleHomelessness

Windermere is proud to partner with the Seattle Seahawks for the fourth season to help #TackleHomelessness. For every Seahawks home game defensive tackle, Windermere will donate $100 to Mary’s Place, whose mission is to help families on their journey out of homelessness. To date we’ve raised nearly $100,000 through our #TackleHomelessness campaign and we’re looking forward to raising even more for our friends at Mary’s Place!

ProjectCool School Supply Drive

The simple beauty of Project Cool:

Every homeless student who receives a new backpack can walk into class with the same new tools and good supplies as their classmates, and not feel unprepared or embarrassed.

Project Cool helps hundreds of homeless schoolchildren each year. We give each child a sturdy new backpack filled with quality school supplies, books, toothbrushes, and more. We train school staff and social workers about supporting homeless students.

Get involved!

Project Cool for Back-to-School happens each year thanks to people like you. We welcome your help!

DID YOU KNOW? Treehouse Supports Youth in Foster Care & They Need Clothes

Dear friends,

Have you hear about Treehouse–Washington’s leading nonprofit organization addressing the academic and other essential support needs of youth in foster care? Treehouse helps more than 7,500 youth each year through programs that focus on their academic success, fulfill key material needs and provide important childhood experiences every child deserves, and they can always use donations of gently used clothing.

In fact, a lot of people don’t know that Treehouse accept adult’s clothes as well as kid’s clothes. They have an exchange arrangement with Goodwill in which Goodwill gives them two kid’s garments in exchange for one adult garment. I am happy to pick up your clothing donations and deliver them to Treehouse, just give me a shout.

Windermere hosting “We’ve Got You Covered” Winter Drive for YouthCare

Dear friends,

Windermere and the Seattle Seahawks have come together for another season to help #Tacklehomelessness in our community.

As part of that campaign, Windermere is hosting a “We’ve Got You Covered” winter drive for YouthCare, a non-profit that provides support and services to homeless youth throughout the Puget Sound area.

We are collecting NEW hats, scarves, gloves/mittens, and warm socks.

From October 15 through November 9, you can drop off donations to participating Windermere offices in King and Snohomish Counties, including my office, Windermere Mount Baker, located at 4919 South Genesee Street in Seattle, WA 98118.

Our friends at Gentle Giant Moving Company are generously donating their time and trucks to pick up all of the donations from our offices. Donations can also be dropped off directly to YouthCare, Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm, at 2500 NE 54th St, Seattle, WA 98105.

Each night, over 1,500 young people are homeless in King County. Please help them stay warm during the cold winter months by dropping off your donations to our participating offices.

Feel free to contact me for more information.
